The character nonetheless reappeared in the 2014 animated series Star Wars Rebels and the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story, voiced again by Witwer Park physically reprised the role in Solo. Zoanthids and Palythoa are found in corals reefs around the world. T5’s, Metal Halides, or LED’s can all grow Zoanthids and Palythoa when the proper PAR levels are provided. Zoanthids require moderate water flow and low to moderate lighting (PAR 100-250) to maintain their color. They will also benefit from additional feedings of micro-plankton or brine shrimp given to each individual of the colony.
They contain the symbiotic algae zooxanthellae which provide some of their nutritional requirements. Zoas will reproduce easily in the reef aquarium by budding (splitting off a portion of their base or mouth), which will increase the size of their colony. Feedingįor continued good health, they will also require the addition of iodine and other trace elements to the water. In the wild, Zoanthids often occupy fringe environments (intertidal, back reef, other shallow areas, over dead corals), making them quite a hardy choice for the reef aquarist. Zoanthids are unique due to how they incorporate sand and other small pieces of material into their tissue to help create their structure. They tolerate a wide range of lighting intensities and water conditions. In terms of care, both Zoanthids and Palythoa are fairly easy to keep.
